The key to precision metal testing to international standards is the ability to measure stress and strain to a very high degree of accuracy.

Some of the most common test types within metal testing are the cupping test, flexural/bend strength, N value and tensile testing. All of these test types can be performed on Tinius Olsen’s high-precision testing machines.

For metal testing, we offer a wide range of extensometers to measure parameters such as Young's modulus and proof stress.

Furnaces are also available for testing metals up to 1200°C. Standard test methods within our Horizon software allow for simple and rapid test creation to international standards.

Tinius Olsen’s dedicated hardness and micro hardness testers are also available for Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers and Knoop indentation hardness testing.

Our material testing and force measurement instruments are used by some of the most innovative companies in the world. We specialize in custom material testing solutions designed to meet the individual needs of our clients. Our involvement in the metals industry spans decades, giving us extensive experience in the field of metal testing.
