Slippage
What is a slippage test?
Slippage is a term that is commonly used in the testing of seamed joints in fabrics. The test is performed by first pulling an un-seamed specimen of the fabric to determine its tensile stretch characteristics; this is followed by a tensile test of a seamed specimen of the fabric. The two resultant graphs are overlaid and the force at which there is a defined separation, at a specified distance, is recorded as the seam slippage force.
