Procedure A of ASTM D1238 version of MP600.

The MP600 is a modular microprocessor based melt indexer and in its basic configuration, as seen here, it is able to perform gravimetric melt index determinations and is compliant with the requirements of Procedure A of
ASTM D1238.

 

The system features a robust construction with a simple leveling system, that can easily handle the heaviest loading weights. The microprocessor based controller and timer maintains the barrel spatial temperature to within +/- 0.25 oC  along the test area, and a timer with an audible alarm to tell the operator when to cut
the extrudate

.

The machine includes all the tools necessary to perform the tests, except a balance will be required to weigh the cut-offs.
