Concrete
One of the most commonly performed tests on concrete is the determination of the compressive strength of standard sized concrete cubes and/or cylinders, typically tested in accordance with ASTM C39 and AASHTO T22. Tinius Olsen offers three series of machines with increasing degrees of automation to satisfy these needs. The DG Series; the MU series; and the FA series; each comprises eight machines in increasing capacities from 50kN (10,000 lbf) to 3,000kN (600,000 lbf). The DG series offers a two speed pump firstly for rapid approach and secondly for the actual test. A manual control valve allows fine control of the test loading rate. The MU series also features a two speed pump, but they also incorporate a microprocessor based control and display, so the test speed is automatically controlled at the desired pace rate. The FA series is completely controlled from a computer running our proprietary software to control all aspects of the compression tester.
All frames can be paired with a flexural testing frame and with the turn of a valve, the pumping unit can operate with this flexural test machine and the system can perform both types of test without the need to change grips - switching between crushing concrete cylinders and prisms, and flexural strength determination of concrete beams is as simple as the turn of a valve.
The compressive strength determination is the final stage of concrete making process, Tinius Olsen also offers equipment to determine other characteristics of concrete making process, namely:
Consistency and Workability
Mixing and Molding Equipment
Curing and Capping Equipment
