Tinius Olsen's Reduction of Area Gage

Reduction of Area Gage

Here is an easy, quick and accurate way to measure the reduction in diameter of a test specimen for simple conversion into cross-sectional area. The reduced section of the specimen is measured between hardened steel contacts.

The Olsen Reduction of Area Gage reads in increments of 0.001 in. It has a throat depth of 1 in., and can be used for reduced sections up to 11/16 in.
