Management Changes

Robert Tait Jr. succeeds retiring President J.A. Millane; C. Robert
Tait III , Vice President of Development, assumes responsibility
for sales and marketing.
Tinius
Olsen, the Willow Grove, PA-based maker of testing machines, has
announced senior management changes that are effective immediately,
and which were approved by the company's Board of Directors at
its last quarterly meeting. C. Robert Tait Jr., who most recently
served the company as Executive Vice President, is the new President
of Tinius Olsen. He succeeds J. A. Millane, who has retired after
more than 40 years of service to the company. At the request of
the Board, Millane will remain with Tinius Olsen in an advisory
capacity and as a resource to the new management team. In addition,
C. Robert Tait III, Tinius Olsen's Vice President of Business
Development, has been given the added responsibility of managing
the company's sales and marketing.
The
Tinius Olsen Testing Machine Company was founded in 1880 by Tinius
Olsen, the inventor of the universal testing machine. He launched
the company after proving and patenting a series of designs for
an entire line of materials testing machines. Since then, the
company has been continuously managed by members of the Olsen
family. C. Robert Tait Jr. and C. Robert Tait III represent the
fourth and fifth generations.
Tinius
Olsen designs and manufactures testing machines for determining
the mechanical properties of metals, plastics, composites, and
almost any other material. Major product lines include mechanical
and hydraulic floor model Universal Testing Machines as well as
benchtop units, all of which can be provided with a variety of
display, control, tooling, and PC-based options for a wide variety
of end use applications. Other products include: PC/microprocessor-based
instruments for testing the mechanical and thermal processing
properties of plastics; automated robotic tensile testing systems;
impact testers; and a variety of other specialized testing equipment.

Olsen also has an extensive range of other testing products, which
include advanced PC/microprocessor-based instruments for testing
plastics, automated robotic tensile testing systems, and a variety
of other specialized testing equipment.
